Help with Panasonic home cinema please...

Hi,

I’m new to all this stuff and am in need of a bit of advice please…

I have just bought a Panasonic TH50PX70 Plasma and wanted a home cinema kit to go with it, I was going to go with the SCPT450EB but learned that it has no optical input therefore I wont be able to get 5.1 sound from my Sky+. So the next one up in the Pana range is the SCPT550EB which has the optical input – So can someone confirm my understanding of this, basically that if the system has an optical in then I can have 5.1 through my Sky+? I’m just assuming my Sky+ can do 5.1 as it has an optical out, so maybe you could confirm this for me too?

I wanted to try and keep it all Pana but if anyone has any other suggestions for kits around this price then let me know!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Craig

Re: Help with Panasonic home cinema please...

Once you have an optical connection between your SKY+ and your amp(home cinema set up) you will have 5.1 surround sound
By the way you are totally in the wrong section of the forum but welcome anyway.

Re: Help with Panasonic home cinema please...

It can be confusing at first but you'll get used to the different sections very quickly.
Go to the "All in one systems" below(fifth item) and you'll find it's more relevant
