Home cinema setup

Hi, new here (and very new to this stuff) and can't seem to find the answer by searching.

I have just splashed out on a LG 42PC55 Plasma TV, and LG HT752TB home cinema system. I need to connect this to my Sky+ box and PS2.

I think I've got is sort of right, the DVD is connected to the TV via a HDMI cable and the Sky box via a Scart and audio cables. I'm really pleased with the DVD sound and picture (all 6 speakers working)

The sky sound is only coming out of the front speakers, is this right? and would an optical cable sort this out.

The PS2 is connected straight to the TV via scart , is there any way to play this through the home cinema speakers?

Re: Home cinema setup

You need to route all the audio through the LG cinema system this should decode the sound and send it to all speakers.

Re: Home cinema setup

Thanks for the quick reply, how do I do that?

the red and white audio cables go from the rear of the sky to the home theatre and the sound only comes form the front speakers of the home theatre kit

Re: Home cinema setup

The 'red & white' cables you are using from the Sky+ box are only stereo which is why you are getting sound only from your front left & right speakers. If you want 5.1 sound (when being broadcast by Sky) you will need to use the optical out from the Sky+ box.

When watching a channel on sky that is not in Dolby Digital 5.1 your processor should be able to be set up to use all of your speakers by setting it to Prologic.
