Alternative to HT-DDW880

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the Sony HT-DDW880? Was going to order it today from Pixmania until lo and behold, I discovered it's not available anymore.

Looking simply for an amp + 5.1/6.1 speakers, not worried about DVD players or whatnot. HDMI switching is a must. Have found some Pioneer and Onkyo receivers that seem to fit the bill, but at 399 for the receiver alone, it's a bit of a jump from the Sony.

Anything out there that rivals the 880 in terms of bang for buck?

Re: Alternative to HT-DDW880

the alternative is the HT-DDW890.
the only real difference is price,a little bit more, and a jumped up usb port, that they now call the digital media port",but its useless without buying the "optional-£100-£200" extras.
theres a topic on it here:
Sony HT-DDW890
amp is virtually the same, speakers and sub are the same,etc...
pixmania should have it now,or very soon.
