HTP1200 does it play proper 5.1 from HD BOX

New to this, pardon the name its my poker name.

Looking to buy HTP1200 to go with a 46 inch M8 Samsung LCD TV with 3 HDMI connections. I simply want to know whether this kit will play proper 5.1 from a Sky HD Set Top Box (if transmitted in 5.1) or just their SUPER 5.1 which is an upgrade of a 2 channel signal. While TV plays HD picture via HDMI connection.

My understanding is the HD box connected to TV via HDMI and the HTP1200 connected to TV via HDMI. The HD Box is then connected to the HTP 1200 via optical connection?

Hope you can help Cheers Steve
