Purchased a surround sound system: Is there aNything else I need?

I have just purchased a Sony HTSS1000 surround sound system. This is going to be my first ever system and will be connected to my xbox 360 (for games, dvd's and hd dvd's) and sky and these will be hooked up to a 32" samsung lcd. I have 2 questions I hope someone can help me with:

1) What cables will I need to hook up my sky box and 360?

2) Are the speakers compatible with universal speaker stands?
