Jamo A 102 HCS 11 DVD Home Cinema Kit

I recently bought the Jamo A 102 HCS 11 DVD Home Cinema Kit. I had heard it at the Bristol Sound and Vision show and was impressed at the sound for the price. I had barely had it a week when the dvd unit ceased to work. It appeared to be blowing any fuses put into the plug. I returned it to the dealer and thought that I would have a replacement sent out. It turns out that Jamo have a policy where they only send replacements if the problem can't be fixed. 3 weeks on and I am still waiting. The only people to contact are the dealer (Audio T) and their response is that there isn't much they can do about it. Also there are no contact details for Jamo UK online. Anyone know where I stand? They have had the unit for longer than I have actually owned it!

No response then? Does anyone at least have a contact number for Jamo UK? I can't find one online.

The company you bought it from is legally obliged to sort this out.

Mention Trading Standards and the Sale of Goods act and tell them to replace/repair (whichever you prefer).

[Edit] -is this the company: http://www.audio-t.co.uk/?section=about ?

Guarantees
We offer an inclusive 3 year guarantee on all new hi-fi and home cinema separates*, the first 2 years of which are transferable to another BADA dealer should you move. Style systems carry a two year guarantee. Everything else, including DVD players and display devices, carries the manufacturer’s guarantee and most of them now offer two years. To back this up, we offer you an after sales service you can count on. only to repair anything that might go wrong but also to answer on-going technical queries or to call round if there’s a problem you can’t sort out yourself (subject to distance).

I agree with Azzin that audio-t should defo sort this out.

I've noticed too that Jamo do not have contact details on their web site, but Audio-t have an address and number for them on their Jamo brand page:

http://www.audio-t.co.uk/?section=br...=brands&id=108

Jamo

address
Unit 32
Greenlands Business Centre
Studley Road
Redditch
B98 7HD
t 01788 573100
f 01788 570111

Hope this helps.

Re: Jamo A 102 HCS 11 DVD Home Cinema Kit

There's a good thread on the Sle of Goods act here.

Some more useful links:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/your_rights/goods.shtml

http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

http://www.dti.gov.uk/consumers/fact...page24700.html

http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/

Here's a quick quote from the Consumer Direct website.....

Quote:
The trader must sort out your problem, not the manufacturer
Remember, if you are entitled to a refund, replacement, repair or compensation, it is the trader who must sort out your problem.

The trader cannot tell you to go back to the manufacturer.
HTH.

Re: Jamo A 102 HCS 11 DVD Home Cinema Kit

If something is less than a month old most manufacturers will normally just swap out - sounds as if Audio T are just being a little unhelpful. BBG distribute Jamo in the UK so you could try speaking to them?

Re: Jamo A 102 HCS 11 DVD Home Cinema Kit

That Redditch address is out of date.

We are a Jamo wholesaler and BBG are the importer and should be able to help.

Where abouts are you and I might be able to apply a little pressure for you.

The A102 is a cracking piece of kit, when you get it back I am sure you will be happy with it.
