Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
I received a summer update from my catalogue at the wkend and noticed a cracking looking home cinema kit. Its a samsung HT-TX25.
I've searched through google and can't find any reviews or info on this model. It only comes up with 4 links and these are all to catalogue sites. I've looked on the samsung site and its not listed either.
Just wondering if any1 has got one or know where i can find more info. This would look the bus alongside my lcd.
Cheers for any help

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
Be interested to know if there's a wireless option with this kit for the the rear speakers.

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
BE very careful when choosing an all-in one system the BIG negatives are.
No 5.1 inputs (Optical) for SKY, Cable, PS2, PS3, Xboxes, PC's etc etc in most cases. If it breaks its all out and buy a complete new system. In my opinion the only thing going for them is that they look pretty.
As for the other reply, wireless is never wireless, you still have to connect the speakers to a mains supply for power, so all you doing is replacing one wire for another and the quality is usally worse.
The best way forward is to pick up a separates starter system at least it has inputs, can be built on and various parts replaced.

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
Would the tele/lcd not be able to output sound to the unit? Allowing everything to connect to the tele and then just the sound being fed from the tele to the cinema system. My old JVC tele could do this through scart but im not sure on my new philips lcd (only had it 1 wk, still due to read the manual).
I just wanted abit more info on this to see if it was worth considering.

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
The basic connection systems like these have is a stereo pair of phonos, that is NOT REAL Dolby 5.1 surround but Dolby pro-logic (or stereo enhancement) once encoded, basically pretend 5.1. SKY+ & HD boxes, PS2/3, Xboxes, DVD players give out REAL 5.1 in Dolby and connect via a fibre or single co-ax link. DO NOT GET THE TWO MIXED UP.
Dolby Digital (5.1)
Provides (up to) 5.1 output from suitable encoded Dolby Digital material
using 5 main speakers (Left Front , Right Front , Centre, Left Surround,
Right Surround) and a subwoofer. Decoding Dolby Digital requires a
Dolby Digital encoded DVD disc and a digital connection from the AV reciever to the source equipment (Such as a DVD player).
DTS (5.1)
DTS also provides (up to) 5.1 output from suitable encoded DTS material
using 5 main speakers (Left front , Right front , Centre, Left Surround,
Right Surround) and a subwoofer. Decoding DTS requires a suitably
encoded DTS disc and a digital connection from the AV reciever to the
source equipment.
Pro Logic II
A newer version of Dolby Pro Logic which is able to recreate 5.1 surround
sound from suitable encoded analog source material. The source
material is stereo (and can be played as such) but also has special
encoding that allows the AV reciever to decode a 5.1 surround sound
output. There are 5 standard modes: Movie, Music, Virtual, Pro Logic
Emulation and Matrix.

I've got the htq100 and I've got the 360 and sky hooked up to it no bother - sounds very good too and it looks a very cheeky companion to the samsung lcd range.
True enough you do need a power supply for the rears but with the htqx100 it powers the wireless receiver as I understand it.

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
The htq100 is NOT 5.1 but 2.1 and to get 5.1 you WILL require digital inputs. Also you seem to suggest that electricity/power can be sent wirelessly to rear speakers???????????????? Yeah right!
For your reference http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/h...Specifications and no mention of 5.1 inputs, it is a stereo system no matter what it states.

I know, I've got the 2.1 and the 5.1 is the htqx100. I was referring to the 5.1 model. Thanks for clarifying that. And both have digital inputs. The product the thread starter mentions doesn't refer to a digital input:
Available April 2007.
500 watt output. 4 tallboy speakers. MP3, WMA, DIVX, JPEG. USB port. HDMI out connection. SAMSUNG
But it may have one, I don't know, you clearly don't know so hopefully someone who does will reveal all.
No, I'm not suggesting the speakers have electricity sent wirelessly!!!!!!, I'm just going by what other users in the htqx100 thread who actually own the 5.1 system have said.
the wireless receiver is just to prevent you having to run wires between the DVD/AV and the rear speakers (ie across your room). The rear speakers still have to be connected by wires to the small wireless reciever, so not entirely wireless!!
So yes there are wires at the back, but not trailing all the way from the amp to the speakers. I'll be sure to be more precise next time!

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
Managed to find abit more information on this model and the model above which is 800watt. I'll post links to amazon site with the info for both models.
Samsung 600watt 5.1 Channel Home Theatre Kit With Tallboy Speakers HDMI And USB2 Host HT-TX25R/XEU
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...aufenundbe1-21
Samsung 800watt 5.1 Channel Home Theatre Kit With Tallboy Speakers HDMI And USB2 Host HT-TX35R/XEU
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-800w...543554-6492720
Now after reading the spec im no clearer to know whether this is an upscaling dvd player? Also it doesn't mention what connection the audio in has. Hopefully more info will be available shortly.
These must be the new systems samsung are offering, this is the only spec sheet for both I can find to date.
Looks a cracking set though.

Re: Samsung HT-TX25 - No Info anywhere
Yeah keep us updated, i'll keep lookng for more info on this & the HT-TX35 and will post as an when I can find any. Looks a superb system for the cash.
If it had optical in, digi coax in, wireless rears and the dvd was an upscaler then this would be the ideal system.
Looking forward to finding more info and reviews.
