Sanyo

I purchased the sanyo avd8501 the other day, the overall quality of the package is outstanding. i really didn't think i'd get something that good for the megre price of £299.
The speakers are light to pick up, but they produce excellent sound. I can't fault the picture quality either. the only thing i will say is that the the manual is abit sparse and you'll have to do alot of fiddlin around to get your settings the way you want to.
The remote control is a bit too big, as it's made to be used as a remote control for sanyo t.v's aswell. But its got the added bonus of having a nice little joysick in the middle.
I don't know about the awia one coz i havent seen it but i couldnt fault the sanyo.
Dont know if thats any help.

Oh ive heard a coulple of rumours that its already region free, but i've yet to try it out.

Paul0000 and Spunky

Thanks for you coments with regards to above thread, I had purchased Aiwa and returned to Makro and got a full refund.

I was advised that a separates package would be the best way to go and that is what I done, although my budget only allows for a budget system at present.

I have procured from Richer Sounds a Kenwood KRFV5050D Amp and Eltax Silverado Speakers along with a Gale sub although I am debating the need for the sub at present as the speakers I have seem to give a good base sound.

I am a little unsure of the Kenwood though so I am thinking about returning this amp and changing for one with hopefully the same or better sound quality and better looks, possibly a Sony or Sherwood.

Thanks anyway

I wish the magazines would rate them against separates rather than other all-in-ones.

Home cinema choice magazine

Home cinema choice magazine reviewed 4 or 5 home cinema all in one packs.
The aiwa ht-dv90 came out top (4.5 out of 5) , then kenwood dvt-7000 (4), JVC th-a9r (4), samsung ht-dl100 (3 1/2) and finally the Sanyo DC-avd8501 (3 1/2).

They said the Aiwa gives you alot of bang for your bucks at £500. So now at £370 its even better value.

Anyone know if it can be made region free with the remote control?

thanks

Strange theyre sister magazines, you`d think they would share information.

Anyway , yes I`m interested in that system boabw mentioned from Richer sounds. Similar price to the all-in-ones but looks
a better quality bit of kit.
