I have also been interested in purchasing a SCHT880 or the SCHT880W.

The way my room is currently setup I am leaning towards the W version with wireless rear speakers.

They certainly do look fantastic and coupled with my TH37PV500 HD Plasma I know they will look the part in the room too,

Only thing that is putting me off is that I would of like a digital input so I can link the Sky+ up to it.

Sky+ has Audio L and R outputs that will connect direct to the player.
Sound is as good as it gets.
Using the super surround function on the panasonic does a good job.

I am buying a Panny PWD8. I have a PS2 and SKY DIGI box (not sky plus) and want top quality sound at a reasonable price.

What are the pros and cons of this system.

I have heard that component type sound is best???

Question for Eddie, I have the Pan SCHT 530 and the sound and vision is great. Still a bit confused about the best way to connect sky+ to get the best sound, am I correct in assuming that I should connect phono leads from Sky+ to DVD player and not phono leads from Sky+ to TV,do I need any other leads? thanks, Barry.

wotcha

i had the previous model (sc-ht870). I flogged it though.

Cons:

Doesnt play Divx, no digital sound in (so no sky+ 5.1, nor xbox/360).

Pros:

Erm, did what it said on the box. Plays dvds in 5.1 well, piccy is good.

I went for one of these after i sold the panny

http://www.jvc.co.uk/product.php?id=...&catid=15&lid=

which is essentially this:

with smaller speakers. IMHO its the shizzle - and less pricey than the panny to boot.

After Debateing the scht 880 i went for the scht-17 which the same in look to it but no dvd player but has 3 digital inputs which should just about be enough for my 360 which will be my dvd player for now i have media center plus the elusive dky hd box when it come (sighs) and will leave my options open for either a upscaling dvd player or hd-dvd drive or blue ray in the future..any comments on my choice more experienced ppl thanks Rob
