Sony DAV-DZ100 question about connectivity

Hi guys,

I want to buy a decent home theatre system as a Christams present for a friend and like the look of Sony's DAV-DZ100. However i have some concerns about its seemingly limited connectivity...

She has just moved to a new place so i'm going to try and sneak a look at their TV setup tomorrow, but i'm pretty sure it goes like this:

Brand new widescreen tv (i don't know make or model yet), but i'm assuming it has at least 2 scart connections, with playstation 2 hooked up to it. She is also getting Sky digital soon.

From reading various online reviews there seem to be some uncertanties on what the DAV-DZ100 is capable of. Its spec says that there is only ONE scart connection on the back of the DAV-DZ100 (along with the speaker connections) and NOTHING ELSE - no red/white phono audio connections, no optical or coaxial digital connections. Obviously the systwm can play DVD movies, thats a given.

But what i want to know is:

1) when she gets the digibox how will she be able to listen to digital tv in surround sound when there is no way to connect the DAV to the digibox via a red/white phono audio connection? the digibox will be connected to the TV via a scart connection so i'm guessing that maybe the sound will go DigiBox-(scart)->TV-(scart)->Surround Sound? apologies if this is a dumb question as i don't know if scart is even cabable of carrying digital sound. 2) will she be able to play and listen to PS2 games in surround sound? Again there is no way of making a direct connection from the PS2 to the DAV because there is one and only one connection on the back of the DAV, and that is scart. If its possible at all will it follow a similar pattern to the DigiBox; as in PS2-(scart)->TV-(scart)->Surround Sound??
