All in one surround sound with HDD recorder

Hi Folks

I'm in need of help - as a pure novice to home cinema I'm looking for an all in one surround sound system that includes a DVD recorder with Hard Drive - does this exist? My budget is approx £500 any possible solutions would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan

I've just bought the Pioneer RCS-77H and I'm very pleased. Picture through component and sound are all first class - through my Samsung LCD hung on the fireplace it's just like being at the piccies. The HDD\DVD recorder in the package is the DVR-530H, an excellent piece of kit with a 160GB HDD.

The Pioneer URL is http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/produ...nomy_id=42-100 . It's just about within your budget at £512 from http://www.digitaldirectuk.com/produ...?strSearch=77h , I doubt you'll find anything better for the price

Cheers,
Q

I've hooked mine up via component and the picture's fantastic. Before the cables arrived though I basically hooked my Sky+ box to the DVD unit via RGB Scart, audio out from the Sky+ box into the inputs on the subwoofer and RGB scart out from the DVD into the TV.

If you go to the Pioneer website and then choose the support option you will see on-line manuals in the left column. Click this, enter the manual database and rcs-77h in the search field. Choose the english manual and you will find all the input and output options on page 45.

HTH,
