Hope that helps some of you!
It's been on their US site for two months at 35% less. All pretty meaningless until anyone's actually got them in stock

Bulk of stock is not now going to be until the end of May. A small quantity has been shipped but it will mean Dealers only getting 1 each until the main stock comes end of May.

We will do as soon as they are available - but again I would expect they will come end of May.

So far most of the new releases from Onkyo have arrived with the exception of the HTX22HDX and the HT-S6305.

The current system does, so I suspect the new one will also have this feature - Can't imagine it being taken away.

That is a great deal at £50 cheaper. If you google the company or search on here you might find someone who has used them.
If you wanted 5.1 you woudl need to buy the speakers separate and they are £100 separate (from Superfi) which makes that deal only £20 cheaper.

Plus Superfi have an excellent reputation ...... but no idea when stock is in.

From looking at it, there doesnt seem to be an Audio out. Maybe look in the HTX22HD thread as its pretty much the same system physically.

Some dealers like us will have received one unit for demo stock. The main delivery will not be available until the end of May.

So there is no way to connect headphones to this system?

Seems quite an oversight. If true that's this unit crossed off my short list which is a shame due to needing it for gaming.

I think ive found a work around as mine was to listen to blurays at night .Im going to get a optical spliter and connect both my xbox and bluray player to my astro a40 mixamp and listen to audio that way .

Other than that i do think its a major flaw to not have one one system for the money it costs considering some people will want to keep noise to themselves at some point

Would a 3.5mm Audio Jack Female to RCA Audio Converter work http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5125

As of 7 may the promo code comes up as invalid.

Also, reading the quote again it says "If you place an order for the Onkyo HTX-22HD ..." - Not "HTX-22HDX"

OK - it looks like the answer to whether this thing can automatically power up is no.

The manual refers again to RIHD compatibility (so as far as I can tell compatibility with...er...other Onkyo devices only), but in any case it would only mean that the HTX-22HDX could be used to switch on & off TVs/DVDs attached to it (maybe the other way round, but its not clear). And the manual says it uses more power when sleeping this way than if it were on standby.

Unlike the HTX-22HD, there is a new section in the manual, referring to "Auto Power Down", but it seems from the following snippet that this is only sends it to standby, and can't be used to switch it on.

Looks like we won't be able to hide it away after all

Quote:
Auto Power Down
With Auto Power Down, you can set the HTX-22HDX so that it automatically switches to Standby if there’s no input signal or operation for about 2 hours.
Off: Auto Power Down off.
On: Auto Power Down on.
On North American models, the default setting is Off. On other models, it’s On.
Note: When Auto Power Down is set to On, even if an input signal is present, if the level of
that input signal is very low, the HTX-22HDX may switch to Standby after about 2 hours.

Hi guys. Can anyone please tell me if the speaker cable is inter-changeable? I.e it's not a molded cable go into a sealed speaker unit as I may require longer lengths of cables for the rears. (If purchasing the 5.1 upgrade).
Thanks.

If you're referring to the current system then you're mistaken, because mine powers up & down automatically when I turn on/off my TV!

If you're referring to the new system then you can't be sure until it's been tested by users.

I have the current system and mine doesn't. Comes on when when I put the BR player on but doesn't shut down with it.

I'll be interested when stocks arrive as I'm after the add on speakers for my current model.

Mine's strange in that it comes on (along with the TV) automatically when I turn on my PS3, but in order to shut everything down together I have to turn off via the TV - weird!
