sometimes the processing the tv will do to audio and video, and then passing audio out to the surround, can effect the sync, placing one behind the other.
other times it can just be a simple solution to make sure to turn down the tv audio, as it will no doubt be slightly ahead of the surround audio.
the sort of sync issue i mean is if you have ever seen bbc 1 for example, on an analogue tv, and at the same time, watch bbc1 on sky or virgin cable, there is a delay between terrestrial tv, and satellite/cable, of a couple of seconds, so my point being, there is a sort of echo, with both tv audio and surround at the same time.
