Yamaha DVX-700 DVD Home Cinema System

Ok, whilst I appreciate that not all of you are fans of 2.1 systems, i'm afraid for ease and to keep her indoors sweet this is the one I am (pending advice) going to purchase...

The question I have is whilst I dont foreee any problems connecting this up to a sony bravia, would I have any problems with also connecting a PS3 to use for both gaming and its blu ray player?

that said if anyone can recommend a different 2.1 for similar money
(£229) I would be happy to reconsider...

thanks in advance

If you've already got a PS3 it seems a bit of a waste to buy a system that incorporates a DVD player?

This Onkyo system seems to be the package of choice and it's bang-on your budget too.

Here's part 2 of the thread on the Onkyo HTX22HD, have a read, it might be the system for you?

Mmm, I know what you mean. Only suggested it as it does tick all the boxes in relation to your post.

Still think it's a bit illogical to buy a system that blows a portion of the budget on a DVD player when you've already got a PS3 Surely this means that if the system still costs the same then the speakers are invaribly going to be sub-standard in retrospect to a system costing the same for just an amp and 2.1?

Personally I'd look at getting an AVR and independent speakers, but that's just me. Anyway, good luck in your quest Dude.
