Thanks: Gave 0, Got 0 | scbt200 sound and picture sync issue.
Hello I have recently purchased the scbt200 all in one package and have it connected to my panasonic 46g10 plasma tv, as well as a sky+ box. The sound is great and everything appears to work well. However (why is there always a 'however) I noticed last night whilst watching a sky broadcast that the sound and spoken picture were out of sync. It appeared to get worse the longer I watched but maybe that was just me.
I'm certain I have read something about this on the forum before but cannot find it now. Can anyone help? Thanking you in advance.

Thanks for the reply, no the tv's volume has been left where it would be for normal viewing.

Was it a live sky program or one you'd sky plussed? If the latter, our sky box does this every now and then, if you turn it off (remove power) and back on it fixes it. Dont know why but its quite a common fault I gather
If its happening during live TC thats more problematic, especially if the sync difference is varying - if it were constant then some AV receivers allow you to adjust the sound output byt milliseconds either way to ensure perfect syncing, but that would only help if it were a constant difference

the two shouldnt be used together, and this is why you are getting a sync/lag issue..due to the difference in when the audio is fed from tv, and to surround.

thanks for the replies folks, I'll try both options. Re the tv volume level, when the surround sound is on there is no sound from the tv speakers which I thought was normal, so I cant quite understand turning the tv volume down, but eh, I'll give it a go.Thanks again

Back to basics.
I assume you have Sky to tv for pic and sky to sound system for sound. Does Sky+ have an optical output?

Is the sound behind the pic? If so check little fingers have not adjusted the sound delay control on sky box. Likewise any sound delay function on sound system.
Regards

Thanks again tom for your reply.
as yet no alterations have been made to any sound delay controls. It is only on sky+ recorded programs. I disconnected the sky box, waited and then reconnected it but this made no difference. However when I turned off the scbt200 system and then turned it back on, eveything was ok, I watched the same recording to check. I'll watch now to see if this issue comes back over the next few days.

yeah I've encountered the same sync issues on the first day of install (sound after image) and when i unplugging the panasonic scbt and plugging back in it worked fine, however merely turning off and on didnt fix the problem.

I have this issue as well on my new SC-BT200, the sound and picture is in sync when I turn the system on (or change inputs), but in 1/2-1 hour it will get out of sync. Very easy to see after about 1/2 hour, and after that it will get worse and worse until it's just ridiculous.
This is using a set-top-box with sound output through HDMI to the Samsung M86 TV, then out via optical to the SC-BT200's "D-IN 1 (TV)" port.
I have been using this same setup on a Pioneer receiver for years (i.e. sound out by hdmi and back into receiver via optical) so I know it's not the TV that's delaying it.
I also checked the dealy settings on the Panasonic system and set it to 0 ms (default is Automatic).
Did you other guys with issues solve it? Really annoying, because otherwise it's a good system with good sound and low/none fan noise (only bad thing is no DTS over optical).
