DVD/IPOD/HDMI Mini system?

Hello to all here!
Longtime lurker, now have registered for some advice seeking!
Need to source a mini system for a lady friend, so trying to keep things simple.
Requirements would be:

-Mini system- 2 or 2.1 (ladies are not speaker friendly!), including or can buy speakers seperately.
-DVD of course, blueray not needed. Upscaling not important.
-HDMI for ease of connection to her present LCD TV.
-IPOD/IPHONE dock, preferably controllable by the system remote. Definately would prefer a dock rather than 3.5mm jack. Support for new gen IPODs is a must. The dock doesnt need to be built in, a plug in type dock would do.
Region lock liberatable!!!- always helps, especially after you've had your movie party night spoiled by hollywood bigwigs once too many times!
-USB/divx/MP3 from CDR might be useful

Found this system,Philips HTS6600, but i think it doesnt support the new gen IPODs.
Budget, lets say about 2-300 pounds?

What are your suggestions, own experiences?
My thanks in advance!
