Forum Special on Acoustic Treatment

'Sound is 50 percent of the motion picture experience'

WORLD CLASS ACOUSTIC TREATMENT AND SOUNDPROOFING AT LOW PRICES EXCLUSIVELY FOR AV FORUMS MEMBERS

Acousti Pro is a UK based company manufacturing the ultimate in acoustic treatment, isolation and soundproofing products for home cinema and studio. If you really want to take your listening experience to the next level in fidelity, stereo imaging and ultimate clarity then please talk to us.

USEFUL INFO

Acoustic Treatment involves the use of foam products to treat a percentage of room surfaces to absorb unwanted frequencies and reflections that are detrimental to the listening experience.

Isolation products kill vibration and unwanted noise transmission by de-coupling speakers and subwoofers from their immediate surroundings, this results in increased power output, musical clarity and improved stereo imaging. The ‘Kill Vibe’ product is so effective that it needs to be heard to be believed!

Soundproofing is used to keep sound in or out of a room. Our Noise Block product is more effective than sheet lead when it comes to stopping noise. It comes in a generous size, can be used on or in walls, ceilings and floors and due to its rubber matting style finish is easy to fit. Unlike less effective rock wool products Noise Block lasts forever.

In recognition of the fact that not everyone has a specific room dedicated to home cinema or simply doesn’t want a ‘studio’ looking foam finish we provide a wide range of fabric trim custom colours to ensure compatibility with existing décor.

FACT: Your room greatly affects the way you hear your music.
FACT: Without acoustic treatment you will never hear music or film
soundtracks the way the producer intended them to be heard!
FACT: Not all foam is the same.
FACT: Acousti Pro products use only the highest acoustic performance foam.
FACT: A small amount of treatment can revolutionise your listening
experience.
FACT: Acoustic treatment is affordable.
FACT: We have custom finishes to suit nearly every home.
FACT: You can play loud without upsetting the neighbours!

FACT: We would love to hear from you :O)

Thanks again for your time, like I said, I think I learnt more in that 20 minute conversation than i did in over 6 years of reading up on the subject

Got any data sheets on these products?

Using soundproofing products in isolation doesn't do much for STC values. Do you have any data to show how effective they are (especially the noise block) when used in conjunction with traditional methods?

Gary.

Hi Gary.

To get the MAXIMUM sound reduction from our Noise Block products they should be used as part of a multi-layer structure however Noise Block offers very good reduction values as a standalone product. For specialist installations eg dividing dance floors in clubs we provide a heavy duty commercial variant of the product that can be hung like a curtains!

Please see below for Noise Block data.

All data sheets will be available from the Acousti Pro website shortly.

Frequency 125Hz 250Hz 500Hz 1KHz 2KHz 4KHz
Noise Block 5 17dB 19dB 22dB 30dB 34dB 39dB
Noise Block 10 23dB 26dB 32dB 34dB 37dB 41dB

I hope this helps.

Hi Matt,

Hows it going?

The Noise Block comes in sheets: 2.05m x 1.25m just right for fixing to studwork! the rolls are totally impractical unless you have a forklift truck and a team of workers at the ready.

We still offer some Auralex products but we decided to team up with one of the worlds largest chemical companies and between us we have developed a range of acoustic products which in all honesty outperform Auralex in just about every dept and costs the customer less thanks to UK manufacturing.

We are still working on the diffusers however!

All the best

I will have samples available again shortly, we have two big projects going through which took care of all my stock, and will be happy to send you a piece once my stocks are replenished.

I will certainly be in touch re Skylines should the need arise.

Could you PM me some more info on the wall treatments please. I'm looking for something similar to the Auralex sonoflat in a coffee colour if possible. Sizes of the tiles would be good too, as I have a big area to deal with.

Thanks,
Steve

What sizes are the Kill Vibe available in? It looks a bit big for my small subs.

Hi,
Kill Vibe is only currently available in one size: 30cm x 40cm.
This is the most practical size for most applications as the production process involves hand finishing which is expensive, however it is likely that we will add further KV products at a later date.
What subs are you running and what are their dimensions?
