Sounds like a scam by Panasonic to find a new way to to dodge their warranty responsibilities. All that adding a length of cable will do is increase the resistance in the path from the amp to the speaker. As the speakers in tis are rated at 3ohms it's unlikely this would have any noticeable effect on this figure and therefore no effect on the system.
It's not like you get a maximum length of cable allowed warning with a separate AV Amp ! You may also want to put better quality speaker cable in this system which will also invalidate your warranty.
