Well it turned out it was my Iomega hard drive that was causing me problems re the USB loader. The Iomega was just acting as an enclosure and when I opened it up, I found a Seagate Barracuda hard drive inside. I then checked on the drive compatability list for USB loaders and found that it wasn't listed as working and upon visiting lots of forums, I also found that lots of other people had been having problems with Seagate drives. Anyway, I went out and bought a Western Digital Elements hard drive - it has 640GB (even though when plugged into my PC it was only showing it as having 596GB for some reason, what happened to the other 44gigs??) and was only £50! Now it's working perfectly with the Wii and the loader and I have finally been able to backup a load of games and just play them from the hard drive.

Thanks for the help guys and I'd advise anyway else wanting to get into USB loaders not to use a Seagate hard drive.
