Hmmm no pressure then
I can only answer honestly and that is to say that the AS-EQ1 does a much better job than the SMS-1 even in the position where I can EQ it flat.
Obviously the differences will be less in a benign room but in mine the difference is quite something.
It is hard to explain but there is so much more detail in the bass and it sounds more 'powerful' and 'zippy'. The nicest thing though is you can't really do much to tinker, maybe you can run the sweeps again if you fancy but that is it, bliss!
