David's comments were aimed at the lack of correct
film based deinterlacing. Most TV stuff is shot on
video and his comments dont apply to this, only broadcast films (SKY Movies etc..) .
If the Humax doesnt output 1080p, then it wont help much. You would have to output 720p and lose definition.
1080i broadcast film is not the same quality as 1080p BluRay, so if the deinterlacing is not perfect it's not going to make a lot of difference to the end result. As David said, a few extra jaggies.
There are lots of other TVs that dont do this correctly.
