Have you checked your settings under the VIDEO option? How do you have your PS3 audio connected to your Philips 5.1? If it is via OPTICAL then go to VIDEO SETTINGS and change the audio output from LINEAR PCM to BITSTREAM. Also rerun the AUDIO SETUP and make sure you click on OPTICAL and AUTOMATIC so it applies the audio formats your 5.1 can decode
