If you try component and it still doesnt look good to you, then maybe you'll have to except the fallacy of SD on an HD tv. Saying this though, Im running a Virgin SD cable box via RGB scart on my samsung and at 6 or 7 feet, its much more than acceptable in terms of quality. Colour is decent, and pixelations and graininess are at a bare minimum.
