if you are using HDMI then you must be using the HDMI port from your V+ box to your TV using a HDMI lead.

When your V+ box is set to HDMI the TV scart is disabled but you can use the VCR scart output for your video sender but just for sound & picture, what I mean by losing functionality is you wont be able view any text menus although you can still use the rewind, forward & pause feature from the remote control.
