SCART leads need to have individually shielded connectors inside - these are more expensive than the crap ones.

Personally (and recently confirmed it) I get a slightly better picture using a SCART lead than only has RGB connectors.

The downside of the shielded SCART leads is that they are thicker and clumsier to use than the cheap ones.
