Re: 1080 p lcd tv as a computer monitor ?

Hi mate,

I use a Samsung LE52F96BD as my monitor in the front room (52" 1080p) and have no problems at all, the picture is crystal clear with no scanning issues or anything else. I sometimes have to increase text size with some web pages (as I sit 10ft or so away from the screen) but thats not an issue. I set my graphics card to 720 @ 50/60Htz (ATI 3650 HD card) for normal PC usage (this increases the size of icons) and set it to 1080p/24Htz when I'm watching HD/Blu-Ray from the HD/Blu-Ray drive or *legally* downloaded films.... I use a DVI-HDMI adapter for picture and a seperate phono lead for basic sound. I also have a wireless keyboard/mouse to limit clutter in the front room and clone a second screen in the spare room (19" no-make screen).

I couldn't be happier with this set up to be honest and I don't see any trade off with using my TV as a monitor, if anything it brings a lot of benefits. You may want to check that there are no known issues with using Sony's as monitors (I don't know of any). I assume you have an LCD 3/4000??

I hope that helps and if you have any particular query about my set up let me know.

Ashley
