Re: Sony X3000/x3500 Series Thread

Evening folks.

When I first plugged my SkyHD into my 46x3500 I was a little disappointed with the quality of SD through SkyHD. VegaCortez also had problems getting settings he was happy with.

I think I have now found the best settings for SkyHD watching mainly SD for me that are sharp, good black levels, and very good quality for SD but there's probably slight room for improvement. I'd tried lots of settings from the avsforums sites and found a lot of the sample calibrated settings on the forums for the 40" screens to be far too dark and red. Comments/tweaks/constructive criticism welcome!

Attached are my current settings for SkyHD through HDMI in an Excel spreadsheet.

There are not a lot of people posting their settings that they feel are best so I've created this draft spreadsheet with all the important PQ settings for SkyHD listed to make it easy for everyone to copy, update, post and/or replicate so please..
Feel free to use it as a template for your own settings so we can all benefit through all our time and effort for the various video sources to share your experience.
