thanks for your comments. Yes it's a chinese import. I was going to purchase directly from the manufacturer, but decided to ebay one instead. Didnt pay too much more than £200 for it anyway and got loads of extras for it being late so i got it for a reasonable price - it is in fact a £200 projector i guess.

theres a label on the bottom of the unit that reads:

Of course, i may choose to air caution to the wind as i wanna see whats on the inside, see if there are any light leaks, whether its possible to replace the fans with super silent ones, etc...

So it looks like it's CE compliant.
