Re: SVIC S700 Multimedia HDTV LCD Projector TV Series ?

prbaxter calm down there, the idea of this forum is to give advice on av equipment and the simple truth of the matter is that some equipment is better than others.

Plenty of places have had spamer give 'reviews' of products so that they can sell their dodgy wears, so I appologies for my cinacism but it doesn't make what I have said any different.

Although you say you "had exposure to loads of branded models as I work with them", so if we can ask what sort of models you consider this projector equivalent to maybe we(I) have judged it too harshy. One of the main sources of critacism is the specs of 800:1 contrast 800x600 and Metal Halide tube lamps i.e. a halogen lamp don't realy stickout as a great product, especialy as those advertising it seem to either get the product description completely wrong or delibretly add in buzz words to make it sound better than it is. One other thing that makes the unit seem rather dodgy is that no one sells them appart from ebay, gumtree and forum sellers.

On the car analogy, would you not have preffered to learn and get to grips with a ford focus rather than rusty old fiesta if it was within your budget? That was the purpose of what i said and not a personal insult.

In what way has anything anyone including (or maybe excluseively) me said that hasn't been level headed, i don't agree with what you said and corrected you on several technical point and otherwise gave reasons to support what i said. If you can't accept a debate or critacism without flying off the handle and felling the need to throw insults at people than maybe this isn't a place for you to talk. If you don't like whats said, simply ignore it or debate.
