A DVB-T tuner IS a freeview tuner.

Yes - it is a very good idea to get one... assuming you can receive freeview.

If you get one with an analogue only tuner, it will only be any good for the next 60 days to 48 months depending on where you live, as it will not receive anything after the analogue switch-off.
