Many thanks for the response, Bob. Apologies, but it was only after I had posted that I thought about trying a R1 DVD to see if that would make any difference.

Having purchased the multi-region player from 'Superfi.co.uk', I guess I'll need to contact them to see what the deal is. I remember reading a post earlier on in this fairly long thread, from another forum member, about exactly the same problem (though he never recieved an answer to his question).

Once again many thanks. If anybody else has come across this problem and managed to fix it, please let me know.
