.... can anyone tell me what the difference is , and for £599 do you reckon it is a good buy , over to you
My guess - and its only a guess - is that they are identical with the 50PZ550T number being peculiar to DSG - Curry's Dixons and PC World. They, like Comet, change the numbering to confuse customers when comparison sites are used.
seems likely as i can find no difference in the specs anywhere
I saw the PZ250 the other day but not in 3D mode. The colour looked excellent but there was a lot of bleed when script appeared on the screen. I don't think it would necessarily be a deal breaker for me but it might put some off. The depth of colour looked better than the current Samsung being sold in Comet for £749.
This thread here - http://www.avforums.com/forums/lg-forum/1393621-official-lg-pz550t-plasma-3dtv-thread.html - states that the 550T is exclusive to Dixons, Currys and PC World.
Hi all,
New to AVForums, so firstly a big hello from me!
Wanted to say for my budget I spent a lot of time on here reading up on the different televisions and I have to say I've just purchased the LG50PZ250T from Richer Sounds.
Currently breaking in the TV, as I understand that's what you need to do? Turned everything down to around 50%. So at the moment not getting full effect but I'm very happy.
On another note as I had to try it, I played Mortal Kombat in 3D (PS3) and it was great on the TV.
Very happy chap I must say
Does anyone know the best picture settings to use for this TV once it's been broken in?
Thanks!
I bought the 50inch PZ550t two weeks ago and it's superb, as regards running in the screen, as long as you watch the brightness level (I've got mine on 45) it'll be OK, these screens are far better in this respect compared to a few years ago
With standard def pictures you are going from around 500 lines to 1080 with high def....so essentially SD pictures will always look a little soft
I've seen absolutely NO crosstalk whatsoever from this set in fact its one of a few that I have seen that would satisfy me. If you are displaying a 3D image from bluray some players are better at this than others. I saw a samsung player running 3D that was terrible, my oppo bdp93 and LG tv combo are superb in this respect
Same here no crosstalk for me i do have the annoying problem of the glasses disconnecting thou do anybody elses do this
A good point has been made above...stop blaming the tv...look at possible issues such as the blue ray player...
Why then did you do away with the LD950? I am kinda on the fence between that set and this one. Still kinda confused which to go for. Both can be had for almost the same amount now.
Well if you go lg passive, maybe the ld950 then thta would be better than all your other chioces, seen about 5 active 3dtv that have xtalk here and there or everywhere, only seen 1 passive and it was a perfect 3d inage, no xtalk, tyats says somethuing about which is better.Yes, I planned to get the LD950 from richer sounds. So they offer at least a years warranty with these store demo units/ refurbs? If they do I think I think it will be worth it if I bought it. The next option up, is either the samsung 40d6100 which is £30 more or the LG 42LW450u which is £70 quid more. For £30 extra, I could also buy the samsung PS51D550 with 4 pairs of glasses and megamind 3D at best buy uk. These are the questions/decisions that make it so difficult for me to take my first step into 3D.
As mocca says the LD950 plays killer 3DYes, I planned to get the LD950 from richer sounds. So they offer at least a years warranty with these store demo units/ refurbs? If they do I think I think it will be worth it if I bought it.
