Thanks for the reply. I'm sure the Faroudja (and similar) chips built into current DVD players are de-interlacing in the digital domain prior to any conversion to analogue. In my specific case the de-interlacer is built into the projector and being fed an analogue signal (S-Video or Component).
I'm planning on using a Toshiba SD9000 into an Epson TW100. The Epson has an inbuilt Faroudja DCDi de-interlacer. Any one know if analogue de-interlacing on this chip is performed in S-Video or Component ?
I guess when DVD player and projector are both with me I could try both connection methods and see which looks best but I'll need to get hold of a quality S-Video lead to make a fair comparison and it would be nice to know in theory, at least, which should look better.
