Nope - it only controls the TV now. Looks like you might have to go and get a cheap Harmony remote or something of the sort (although personally I've always preferred just getting used to having a ton of different remote controls).
There's just about no ghosting at all. It's so close to non-existant that I can't say if it happens more when it's first turned on or not. I don't think it needs time to warm up.
