After spending some years in TV edit suites wondering why the pictures were so much better than TVs at home as they were mostly component driven - I have had the chance this week to use at home a DVD player (a cheap Schneider from Asda - under a hundred quid), with component out, to a Samsung TV with component in sockets - and I'm amazed at the quality.

The colour is absolutely clean - it's a joy to watch - let's hope broadcast TV is as good some day!
