Not necessarily. The TV may be capable of accepting a 720p input, but that
doesn't mean it is actually capable of displaying a picture made up of 1280x720 individually resolvable pixels. It's quite possible that a 720p signal won't look any better on that TV than a regular, standard-definition picture does.
