Just tried to video the kids to find no picture but sound. Old footage will playback ok on viewer. Does this sound familiar. Found the source of the problem on this forum (failed CCD). Will have to contact Canon on Monday.
Have not used it for a few months but camera is only 23 months old. Going by the forum, Canon will be no help. We should highlight this problem with Watchdog or if anyone has Which? membership see if they can help.

Will not be buying Canon any more if they don't fix the CCD free of charge.

Raised a technical case with Canon, but they just replyed get it repaired. Will now email supplier and credit card referring to DTI guide that goods should be suitable for 6 years.
