Thanks for the reply that's what I was thinking though if I were being cynical I would say they were nearing write off time and returned it untested so they can then class this as a seperate repair with a new time limit fix it properly (hopefully) and not have to replace, I however class this as still the first repair as It was immediately faulty when it was switched on and therefore not repaired correctly.
