Hi everyone. First post, so please be gentle!
I've read this thread pretty much from the beginning and having just got home from the Trafford Centre near Manchester where me and the missus were having a bite to eat and looking for a bit of Saturday night viewing, I'm still shaking my head in despair.
After half an hour browsing through the Blu-Ray (HMV SALE) section we left and went to the Asda across the road, then to the Sainbury's on the way home. Now I usually have a glance at the supermarket BDs when I'm kicked out to do the shopping and I know they're very limited and not always cheap but....
Transformers 3 Asda £10 HMV £25
Super 8 Asda £10 HMV £25
Star Wars Sainsburys £50 HMV £100
No cheaper on HMV's website either. These aren't the only examples by any means - just the ones we bought.
Don't get me wrong, I like HMV. I think there has to be a mainstream retailer where we can all go and browse in the real world and interact with real people and then hopefully buy films and music and games and accessories and ....so on.
But I don't see how they can last much longer, particularly as more people are losing their "fear" of shopping online and subsequently realising that there is more than one price for everything. I know the title of the thread is "let's laugh together..." , but it just seems kinda sad really.
Anyhow, when we got home I found she'd recorded "The Voice" AND BGT, so I'll have to wait to see that huge white Star Destroyer in glorious HD
Keep up the great debate - thanks for reading
