I am pleased to report that the US disc is free of the unsightly artefacts seen in the UK version. The UK one, to me, has always looked a little unstable in terms of the encoding, like it could break out into blocking or banding at any moment. It doesn't do it all the time of course, but the moments that it does break down caught my eye and once I've seen that stuff, I can't "un-see" it. The US version seems that much more cohesive and stable, and looks ever so slightly sharper too.

Well worth getting hold of, if ye can play Region A platters.
