At the risk of sounding like your average panny owner twisting the knife . .
I had a Samsung plamsa tv (£1800 from Dixons) and it showed all of the problems people are mentioning here; solarisation, poor skin tones, crap Sky+ PQ etc.
In the end it did my head in and I sold it cheap. I got a PWD6 from RS for £1099 (now £1299). The difference is so great I can't begin to tell you. I used to cringe every time I watched it, and now I smile every time I watch it. I put it down to better greyscale (1024 colours instead of 256), more colours and just better glass and circuitry all round.
After reading some other posts from LG owners I really thought you were all happy bunnies. This is the first time I've read this thread and I'm shocked to read that you're not all thrilled as I thought you were.
In case anyone has not bought their plasma yet and is still wondering, there is a gulf of difference between a lower end plasma and a better one (based on my own experience). A PW6/PWD6/PW7/PWD7 can be bought for about the same cost as the LG, though it may require a couple of extras.
