after many hours i've now discovered that one of the clips was currupted! (the clip wouldnt play at all, even on the main menu screen), wish i'd discovered this before trial and error burning discs!. there must have been an error while copying from the sd card to the pc? luckily it was still on the sd card so ive downloaded it again and its fine. all is well
