First of all, thanks to Dante and all the others who have posted and really helped me out!
I just recently bought and set up a Yamaha RX-V665 with a set of Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 speakers. I set the sub crossover to the maximum and set the level at just under halfway. I then ran the auto calibration. It sounds pretty good, but I think it can be better. The bass is slightly lacking (less bass than my previous/old Sony HTIB with a passive sub). I'm wondering if it's just in how I have things set up? It set all my speakers to small and set the crossover to 80Hz.
My speakers all have a frequency range of 100Hz to 24kHz, and the sub's frequency range is 45Hz to 180Hz.
From what I've been reading, that means that the minimum I should set the crossover is 100Hz correct? I've done this, but it sounds better (in my opinion) at 80 or 90Hz. Again, I'm not sure why this would be, or if I've set something else wrong?
The LFE/Bass Out setting is currently set to "SWFR", but I can change it to "front" or "both". With the Yamaha, is "both" the same thing as "LFE+Main"? And if so, would that give me a better overall result with stronger bass?
