Wanting to go buy a telly in an hour or so...

...and I'm thoroughly running circles around myself. In the last day I've confused myself more than I ever thought possible!

I have a budget of *absolute maximum* £500. I'd rather spend nearer £400.

It'll be used either for playing Xbox 360 games (e.g. PAL60 - what's the craic with that?), or DVDs from said console. Some movies through PC BluRay. Not bothered about telly performance (can't stand the drivel on 99% of the time), just want a half decent panel.

Initial thoughts are 24p capable 1080p screen, hopefully around the 42" mark. 3 HDMIs are fine, VGA is useful, most other stuff isn't needed.

My two options seem to waver around these from Richer Sounds:

Samsung LE40B530 (£479.95)

LG 42LH3000 (£499.95)

Is there anything better priced where I can walk in and buy today? I'm just wanting to ensure I get a decent deal and walk away with something that's gonna work for what I want.

I'm leaning towards the LG, but can't be sure why.

Huge thanks for anyone that can push me towards one or the other. Bonus points for offering haggling advice. Do RS play nice if you kindly ask them to throw in the extra warranty? Or a HDMI cable?
