If you're not enamoured with the satellite channel lineup, OK, but don't buy a brand new Freeview PVR with Freeview HD just around the corner.
If necessary to buy something now (for you daughter or you), how about a Grade "A" Managers Special 9150T from Humaxdirect?
BTW, I've got both FreeSat/View+ machines for the best of both worlds.
